Why We Are Here
On March 11, 2017, life as I knew it was destroyed when my husband, Mark, died unexpectedly from a massive heart attack while on vacation.
Mark & I were together for thirty-two years, raised two wonderful children into adulthood, traveled the world together, and loved each other unconditionally. In 2015, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. With the love of Mark, my children, family, friends, and faith, I survived several operations and cancer treatments. Then Mark’s death in 2017, and I had no clue how I would survive in his absence.
I took the strength I learned from being raised in Chicago and the warrior mentality from serving in the US Army for twenty-one years to fight the overwhelming devastation of Mark’s death. With my faith, countless therapy sessions, and the support of family and friends, I discovered my way and purpose for living. The small daily steps allowed me to keep living and develop my new life.
I also began connecting with other widows and widowers to grasp insight and understanding of this challenging journey which became instrumental to my well-being.
Those many conversations were the inspiration for Widowhood Real Talk With Tina. I am not a licensed therapist. However, I want to offer other widows and widowers, along with their community, a way to navigate the heart-wrenching sorrow and devastation I experienced. I hope the candid discussions on the podcast, the resources, and the ability to connect with others on this journey bring you hope and encouragement. #WRTWT

Your input on the podcast was good
Your input on the podcast was good. I appreciated your honesty with the building. Honesty with your tax business. My mom passed in 2017 and our Dad needed support from all. Especially my wife.
You did great
You did great for your first time on a podcast! Glad you're our neighbor 😊
Looooved it!! For so many reasons: #1 - you are a wise, and well spoken woman!! #2 - I find comfort and joy in hearing the differences in you and Kim (the host) - because it celebrates our friendship! That you can see past the differences in people and sync with what you connect with. #3 - without "selling" Widowhood Real Talk - you drew me and I'm sure others, into what it is about.
I can hear the love in your voice.

GM Tina. I just finished listening to the podcast and it was truly inspirational. Thank you so very much for sharing. I can't tell you how much things that you shared resonated with me in simple txt message. But I wanted to let you know that I really appreciated your transparency, and so many of the little nuggets that you shared about being true to yourself. Hopefully I will get the opportunity to share with you sometime face to face.
